GG'S APARTMENT
Renovation of a Barcelona apartment for Italian architect Gio Ponti and his wife, Giulia Vimercati. Ponti's signature use of accordion walls, a testament to his penchant for ultimate functionality, played a pivotal role in shaping the organization of the apartment.

THE SITE
This is the current floor distribution, comprising three separate apartments slated for transformation into a single unit. During the renovation process, careful consideration was given to the existing plumbing layout, and due respect was paid to the placement of load-bearing walls.
TECHNICAL DRAWINGS
ACCORDION WALLS
The apartment is organised with accordion-style curtains. This innovative design allows seamless transitions between open and closed spaces, effortlessly shifting between private and public areas.
MOODBOARD
Gio Ponti skillfully played with both contrast and harmony in his color schemes. He would juxtapose bold colors with neutral tones, creating a balanced and visually interesting environment. Which I emulated in my design.
